Functions and Weddings

The restaurant offers an ideal function room we can cater for approximately 55 all seated or 120 for a function with a buffet where not all guests seated. It is a beautiful setting for a small intimate wedding as the restaurant has access via a flowered courtyard to the extensive gardens. We will endeavour to cater for special events exactly as our guests would like it.


Sunday Lunch

Our Sunday lunch is proving very popular and table reservation is strongly recommended.  Meats are sourced locally to ensure your roast tastes excellent. You will also find a good selection of fish dishes and vegetarian dishes.

Local food from local suppliers

We are committed to using local produce where possible, and we try to source our products from other small local businesses rather than big multinationals. As a result we feel we can offer higher quality products to our guests. During your stay with us you will be able to sample some of Northumberland’s best foods and ales. 



Good Real Ale

We pride ourselves on our cask conditioned ales and we always have a good selection from our local micro-breweries such as Hadrian & Border Brewery, we are recommended in the good beer guide.



Food Allergies

Our chefs understand that there are increasing numbers of people with specific dietary requirements so if there are foods that you cannot eat just let us know and we will endeavour to suit your individual needs.  Our menu is clearly marked with a good selection of dishes made from gluten free ingredients.  We will happily keep food items in our fridge for you if needed.

We are DOG FRIENDLY.  Dogs are welcome to join you in the bar, conservatory & outside areas.  However, we do not allow dogs in the large dining room.  Please let us know when booking a table if you are bringing dogs with you.

Food Service Times

You can enjoy your meal in the bar, patio or the conservatory which leads onto our extensive garden and grounds 

Lunch served  12.00-2.30pm Wed to Mon (No lunch service on Tuesday)  

Dinner served Monday to Saturday 5.30-8.00pm Sunday 5.30-7.30pm

Food service times may be extended during High Season/School Holidays 

No food service in the evening of Christmas Day (buffet provided for residents)
